Enhancing Literacy Through Technology at Home and School

Summit Information: A wonderful opportunity for parents and educators of deaf/hard of hearing children to meet and learn together. This Summit will bring together parents, educators, educational interpreters, and students from Utah, Idaho, Montana, Arizona and Wyoming to meet and collaborate. All presentations, workshops and breakout sessions will address the topic "Enhancing Literacy Through Technology at Home and School". This years focus will be on utilizing technology to support and encourage literacy growth in our students. As well as implementing curriculum and available apps at school and home for maximum benefit to the student. Parents will enjoy break out sessions specifically designed to give knowledge of technology available and how to carry on at home what is being implemented at home. Breakout sessions will allow more in depth discussion of relevant topics. Educational Interpreter Training: This year the Educational Interpreter Training will be held at the same location and time as the Summit. This will give everyone the opportunity to benefit from the great workshops planned for Educational Interpreters. The Summit will bring together Educational Interpreters from the mountain states to learn and address relevant questions through guest trainers and collaborative roundtable forums.
